Key equity indices trade higher following Asian markets

The key Indian equity indices were on Tuesday afternoon trading higher following positive trends from Asian markets.

The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) was trading 85.22 points, or 0.27 per cent, higher during the afternoon session.

The wider 51-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading higher at 10,042.70 points -- up 25.75 points or 0.26 per cent.

The Sensex of the BSE, which opened at 31,975.59 points, was trading at 32,009.63 points (at 1.23 p.m.) -- higher by 85.22 points or 0.27 per cent from the previous day's close at 31,924.41 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 32,098.46 points and a low of 31,967.54 points in the trade so far.

 

"The benchmark indices opened higher tracking positive trend seen in Asian markets after Wall Street's rally to new highs. The broader NSE's Nifty also rose in the morning hours. The Indian rupee opened marginally higher against the US dollar," said Dhruv Desai, Director and Chief Operating Officer of Tradebulls.
