The key Indian equity indices were trading lower during afternoon session on Friday following cues from Asian markets.
The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) was trading 155.33 points or 0.44 per cent lower.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 41.45 points or 0.38 per cent lower at 10,726.90 points.
"Indian markets opened mixed following global cues as Asian markets trading in negative territory," said Dhruv Desai, Director and Chief Operating Officer at Tradebulls.
The Sensex of the BSE, which opened at 35,406.47 points, was trading at 35,307.75 points (at 1.14 p.m.), 155.33 points or 0.44 per cent lower from the previous day's close at 35,463.08 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 35,415.19 points and a low of 35,260 in the trade so far.
