Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia is to appear before various courts in Dhaka on Wednesday in connection with 12 different cases filed against her.
Of the lawsuits, nine were filed for the 2015 arson attack in Darussalam area and one for sedition. She will also appear before a special court in connection with the Barapukuria coal mine graft case and the Niko graft case.
With regard to the sedition case filed on January 25 this year, the BNP chairperson will appear before Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions judge Md Kamrul Hossain Mollah.
Khaleda's chief counsel Sanaullah Mia told the Dhaka Tribune that she will also surrender and file bail petitions in nine cases, eight of which are filed against her under Special Powers Act.
