Socialite Kim Kardashian and her rapper-boyfriend Kanye West allowed Kim's mother Kris Jenner to film the birth of their first child with a home video camera, but only for family viewing.

West refused to allow cameras for her series "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" to record any footage in the hospital about the arrival of their baby girl who was born five weeks premature at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center here, reports femalefirst.co.uk

According to sources, the footage will not be used on Kim's reality show.

The source said: "Kim was extremely upset because she wasn't due for another month. She was in pain and didn't know what was happening. The camera crew from 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' had been with her all week."

"Kim was taken to Cedars, and cameras followed her there. The camera crew did attempt to accompany Kim into the hospital. When Kanye arrived, he told them to get lost, which they did. Kanye didn't want this precious moment to be documented for TV."

"Kim's manager, Kris, who was in the delivery room, filmed portions of it for family viewing only. Kanye told Kris when she could film," the source added.

However, Kim's older sister Kourtney, 34, had allowed footage of both of her children - Mason, three, and Penelope, 11 months - being born, captured on home video cameras, to be used for reality TV specials.
