Former IPS officer Kiran Bedi joined the BJP Thursday, ahead of Delhi assembly elections scheduled Feb 7.

Flanked by Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Bedi, who was earlier attached with India Against Corruption led by Anna Hazare, became a member of the party by dialling the toll-free number started for the BJP's mass membership drive.

Actor-turned-politician Jaya Prada is also likely to join the BJP and may be fielded against AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal in the Delhi assembly election, BJP sources said Thursday.

Polling in Delhi will be held on February 7 and the counting of votes will take place on February 10.
