The knife-wielding man who killed at least 19 persons and injured 45 others in a facility for handicapped people in Japan's Sagamihara city near Tokyo has been arrested, the media reported on Tuesday.
Police arrested the man in his 20s, when he turned himself in at police station and owned up to the attack, Japan Times reported.
He is reportedly being held on initial suspicion of attempted murder. The man used to work at the facility, the police said.
A neighbour of the facility, told NHK World that a man with blonde hair and in black clothes was held by police, Japan Times reported.
The facility provides accommodations and day-care services for people with disabilities, and has a swimming pool, gym and medical clinic.
