Indian star batsman Virat Kohli was once again involved in a verbal barrage against Australia on the fifth day of the third Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) here Tuesday.

The Australians wasted little time making their feelings known to Kohli after the Indian vice-captain's blunt assessment of the hosts' sledging on the third day.

After narrowly surviving a run-out opportunity in India's frantic second innings, Kohli appeared unimpressed with the banter of the the Australian fieldsmen, reports the heraldsun.com.au.

"It's all about you. It's all about you," the hosts wicketkeeper Brad Haddin said, clapping his hands in Kohli's direction.

Kohli appeared to gesture in the direction of the umpires, apparently in protest of the Australians needling which was audible on Channel Nine's stump microphone.

"That would have been a shame, Virat," quipped all-rounder Shane Watson.

Kohli hit 169 Sunday before revealing in a media conference that the home side had called him a spoiled brat and had taunted him all day long.

The explosive right-hander scored 54 runs from 99 balls in the second innings.
