Nepali Prime Minister Sushil Koirala Thursday extended cordial greetings and sincere congratulations to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of India's 68th Independence Day.
"I, on behalf of the government and the people of Nepal, and on my own, extend to the friendly people of India my cordial greetings and sincere congratulations," PM Koirala said in his message to Modi.
"It was great honour to welcome you in Kathmandu earlier this month," Koirala said.
"I recall with pleasure the warm and productive exchange of views we have had on a range of issues of mutual interests on further consolidating and expanding traditionally close, friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries and their people."
"Your visit has proved instrumental in strengthening our bilateral relations and taking them to new level," said Koirala adding that "further, I am confident that the age-old ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries will be further strengthened during the tenure of your office."
Koirala wished good health and happiness of Modi as well as the progress and prosperity of the friendly people of India.
