Prabir Majumdar, a reputed mathematics teacher, died after he was run over by a bus on the city's Eastern Metropolitan Bypass here Wednesday, police said.
Majumdar, who had been teaching in the city's famed South Point High School for over three decades, was riding on his scooter to school when he lost his balance while negotiating a pothole and fell on the road. A bus coming from behind crushed him.
Majumdar, 59, was rushed to a nearby private hospital, but was pronounced dead.
