Seven time world champion Pankaj Advani and current global number three Sourav Kothari would be among those vying for honours in the week-long Kolkata Open-National Invitation Snooker Championship beginning here Dec 16.
Manan Chandra, a former world number three and Aditya Mehta - the first ever Indian to reach the final of a professional snooker tournament in 2013 - would also battle it out in the tourney to be played at the Hindusthan Club.
The tournament - to be played on a league cum knock out format - ends Dec 22, Manoj Kothari, national coach for Billiards and Hindusthan Club president Shyam Sunder Agarwal told media persons Thursday.
A two day Profession-Amateur (PRO-AM) Championship would also be held, teaming up a professional with an amateur in doubles snooker.
