Kuwait, May 29 (IANS/WAM) A Kuwaiti foundation and Unicef have signed two agreements worth $6 million to provide education for Syrian refugees in Lebanon and Jordan, a Saudi News Agency said.
The agreements are part of Kuwait's pledge to aid Syrian refugees during the London Donors Conference for Syria in 2016, said Adnan Shihab-Eldin, director-general of Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS).
The pledge was made by Kuwaiti Emir and KFAS Chairman Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Eldin noted that the first agreement, signed in Dubai last March, involves providing $3 million for education and professional training for about 4,500 Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
The second was signed on May 17th and involves $ 3 million for about 4,230 Syrians in Jordan, he added.
