Largest and tallest Indian flag to be unfurled Tuesday

The largest and tallest Indian flag will be unfurled Tuesday by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah at Faridabad, said a member of the event's organising committee Monday.

"The world's largest Indian flag will unfurled tomorrow by BJP president Amit Shah. The flag will be hoisted at 250 feet making it the tallest Indian flag," a member of the organising committee told IANS.

According to the member, the flag weighing 48 kgs will be hoisted at a height of 250 feet (75 meters), making it the largest and the highest hoisted Indian flag in the world.

"The flag has a dimension of 96 feet by 64 feet and has a weight of 48 kgs. The event is organised by Nav Chetna Trust which is formed to work on social issues like beti bachao and swachh bharat," the member said adding that the event is an initiative by Faridabad MLA (member of legislative assembly) Vipul Goel.

 

Along with Shah, Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar and the entire state cabinet is expected to participate in the event.

Actor Ranbir Kapoor is also expected to attend the event which will be held in Faridabad Tuesday.
