Las Palmas conceded a goal in the second half and had to settle for a 1-1 draw with Deportivo La Coruña as both clubs reached the midpoint of the 2016-2017 La Liga football season.

A day after the Las Palmas coach went public about tensions inside the dressing room, the hosts here on Friday played a solid first half, despite doing without the services of the suspended Prince Boateng, reports Efe.

Deportivo looked disorganised as the home side dominated possession. Visiting goalkeeper managed to turn aside a hard shot from Marko Livaja, but Mateo Garcia put Las Palmas up 1-0 in the 13th minute after a poor clearance by Deportivo's Sidnei.

Deportivo changed their shape at the start of the second half and the adjustment paid off in the 69th minute, as Florin Andone beat Las Palmas keeper Javi Varas with a shot just inside the near post.

With the score knotted, things got worse for the home side with the expulsion of defender Aythami Artiles, thrown out in the 77th minute after picking up two yellow cards in the space of five minutes.

The visitors spent the final minutes on the attack, but Las Palmas were equal to the challenge and managed to remain unbeaten at home for the season.

Las Palmas remains in 10th place, with 25 points from 19 matches. Deportivo, who have 19 points, are 15th in La Liga.
