West Bengal's opposition Left Front Monday hit out at Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for announcing a slew of projects, saying she was doing so with an eye on the polls and also questioning their implementation.
"Just before the polls are to be declared, she (Banerjee) announced over 100 projects. While she is doing this to mislead people and reap electoral benefits, the people are aware of the reality about the possibility of the projects," said Communist Party of India-Marxist leader Surjya Kanta Mishra.
Mishra, the leader of opposition in the assembly, also took a jibe at Banerjee, who announcing the projects Saturday, asserted that her government was a good team - "doing good batting, good fielding and even good umpiring" which has been performing really well.
"She is an all-rounder and expert in batting, bowling and even umpiring. She seems to be an expert in everything," he said.
"This government hardly does things it says and does only those things which it never says," said Mishra expressing doubt over the implementation of the announced projects.
