Actor Liam Hemsworth has reportedly been offered a role in the "Independence Day" sequel.

The sequel has been titled "ID Forever" and sources told The Wrap that the "Hunger Games" star has been offered an unspecified role in the film, but representatives of 20th Century Fox have not commented, reports aceshowbiz.com.

Actor Will Smith will not return to "ID Forever", but Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman are expected to be back as scientist David Levinson and President Thomas J. Whitmore respectively.

Roland Emmerich will direct the film and Carter Blanchard has been hired to rewrite the first draft of the film written by James Vanderbilt.

The film is set to arrive in theatres June 24, 2016, nearly twenty years after the original movie's release.

Hemsworth can next be seen in "By Way of Helena". Also starring Woody Harrelson and Emory Cohen, the thriller is set to release later this year.
