Some parts of Delhi witnessed light, sporadic rains Wednesday and the maximum temperature settled three notches below average at 30.6 degrees Celsius. The Met office has forecast more rains Thursday.

"The skies will be partly cloudy tomorrow (Thursday) and parts of the city will get rain," said an official of the India Metrological Department (IMD).

The maximum and minimum temperatures will hover around 30 and 25 degrees Celsius.

Wednesday morning was pleasant and cloudy due to overnight showers and the minimum temperature settled a notch below average at 25.3 degrees Celsius.

The weatherman said the city received 13.5 mm rain from 8.30 a.m. Tuesday to 8.30 a.m. Wednesday. The maximum and minimum humidity levels were 97 and 77 percent, respectively.

The city received heavy showers Tuesday which led to traffic snarls which choked parts of the city and bordering regions. However, no jams were reported in the city Wednesday, according to the Delhi Police traffic.

Since the monsoon's arrival in June, Delhi has received 484.5 mm of rain, 40 percent more than average.

Tuesday's minimum temperature settled at 26 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of year. The maximum temperature dipped three notches below average to 30.4 degrees Celsius.
