Lily Allen mocks peers' antics in new video

The video of singer Lily Allen's comeback single "Hard out here" has ruffled up a few feathers as it seems to take a swipe at her contemporaries Miley Cyrus and Rihanna.

The video is said to mock their explicit antics, reports contactmusic.com.

In the video, the singer grinds provocatively with a number of scantily-clad dancers, before 'twerking' a la Cyrus' act at the MTV Video Music Awards in August.

She is also seen posing against a luxury car, polishing expensive tyre rims, flashing dollar notes in what appears to be reminiscent of Rihanna's raunchier promos.

Allen is said to have used the video to convey her thoughts about present day music.

The "Smile" hitmaker is gearing up to release her first track since stepping out of the spotlight in 2009 to focus on raising her two children.

She returned to the studio earlier this year, and released her new promo online on Tuesday night.

The video elicited a huge buzz online, and fans congratulated the singer for it.

Allen took to Twitter to thank her fans.

"I am honestly on the verge of tears. So overwhelmed by your feedback. Thank you, thank you, thank you," she posted.
