Real Madrid's Welshman Gareth Bale has said that winning the Champions League final in Lisbon against Atletico Madrid in 2014 "was one of the best sporting moments" of his life and he hopes to repeat the feat this season under the new coach, Spaniard Rafael Benitez.
In an interview for the club on Friday, Bale said, "for me the game in Munich was huge and the Lisbon final was one of the best sporting moments in my life," reports Efe.
Real Madrid defeated German champions Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-finals before beating Atletico Madrid in the final.
"We aren't happy about the Sporting result. We're excited, we want to beat Betis and play well for our supporters," the Welshman added.
"The supporters treat me well and playing for Real Madrid is a dream come true for me. I give my all for this shirt and these fans," Bale said.
As for Benitez, Bale praised the Spanish coach and highlighted his efforts, both in training and matches, while he was confident about winning more titles in the future.
