After being named in Germanys 23-man squad for the Confederations Cup in Russia, Liverpool midfielder Emre Can will miss the start of club football pre-season training.
The 23-year-old has been called up by Joachim Low for the tournament which takes place from June 17 to July 2, according to www.liverpoolecho.co.uk.
Can, in all likelihood, will be granted three weeks off by Jurgen Klopp after the Confederations Cup.
Therefore, if Germany make the final then he won't be reporting back for club duty at Melwood until around July 23 - meaning he would miss the tour of the Far East.
Can, who also missed the start of pre-season in 2016 following his international commitments at Euro 2016, is about to enter the final year of his contract.
Germany are in Group B for the Confederations Cup with Cameroon, Chile and Australia. Hosts Russia are in Group A with New Zealand, Portugal and Mexico.
