Liverpool striker Danny Ings will miss the remainder of the English football season due to a knee injury.
Ings tore the cruciate ligament in his knee during the team's training session on Thursday morning and will be sidelined for about nine months after surgery, Efe reported.
The 23-year-old, who joined Liverpool last summer from Burnley, has been one of the outstanding players of the Reds since the start of the season.
Ings, who made his England debut on Monday in the Euro 2016 qualifying match against Lithuania, has become the second player in Liverpool to suffer from a torn cruciate knee ligament in just two days.
On Thursday, the extent of the injury of his teammate Joe Gomez, 18, was also confirmed, leaving him out of action until next season.
