Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday told visiting French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius that he was "looking forward" to his France visit in April.

In a meeting with Fabius, Modi conveyed his condolences to the victims of recent terror attacks in that country and expressed India's solidarity with the people of France, a statement said.

The prime minister recalled his meeting with President Francois Hollande on the sidelines of the G-20 summit in Brisbane last year.

Modi also invited French companies to take advantage of the 'Make in India' programme in various sectors, especially in view of the liberalized FDI regime in the country, the statement said.

The two leaders discussed key areas of bilateral cooperation, including space, defence, railways, smart cities and tourism, it added.
