After presenting Los Angeles' candidacy for organising Olympics 2024, the American city's Mayor Eric Garcetti said on Tuesday that they are ready to host the event either in two months or in two decades.
Garcetti said repeatedly that his city is seeking to host Olympics 2024, and for that it competes in a healthy way with Paris, the other city vying for the event, reports Efe.
The Mayor added that he does not want to comment on the possibility that IOC may choose the 2024 and 2028 Olympics hosting cities in the same session at Lima on September 13.
California's capital, which organised the Olympics in 1932 and 1984, is ready to host the Games, either in two months or in two decades, Garcetti continued.
However, he said popular support, between 80-90 per cent, for the 2024 candidacy may diminish, as well as the backing of the sponsors, if Los Angeles is chosen for the 2028 Olympics.
