Actor Kevin Bacon says losing most of his fortune in a 2008 fraudulent investment scandal never affected his marriage to Kyra Sedgwick.

The "Footloose" star and Sedgwick were victims of Benie Madoff's 2008 fraudulent Ponzi scheme but he says seeing their fortune disappear never had a damaging impact on their marriage.

"I don't think there was a moment where it was like, that thing happened and then we got p***ed at each other. It was sort of the opposite. We kind of went, 'Holy s**t. Let's... I don't know. Let's have sex or something. It's free'," he told GQ magazine, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

The 56-year-old actor, who has kids Travis, 26, and Sosie, 23, with Sedgwick, acknowledged some relationships don't survive after suffering financial setbacks, but he and his 49-year-old spouse always felt they would be fine.

He said: "We knew we were going to have each other and our kids were okay. They were through school, almost. We both felt like we would work."
