In a fresh twist in the Louis Berger bribery probe, a special public prosecutor has accused Sharon Alemao, the daughter of former Goa chief minister Churchill Alemao, of intimidation.

Special public prosecutor Rajeev Gomes, who was appointed on behalf of the Goa Police Crime Branch, in his complaint filed in the Panaji police station on Tuesday said Sharon Alemao threatened him outside the court premises after the day's proceedings.

"Sharon Alemao, the daughter of Churchill Alemao, pointed a finger at me and said 'I will take care of this guy'," Gomes said in his police complaint.

While Sharon Alemao was not available for comment, sources close to her denied the allegation.

"We did not meet Gomes after the court hearing today (Tuesday). The charges are false and baseless," a close relative said on condition of anonymity.

Then PWD minister Churchill Alemao and former chief minister Digambar Kamat and other government officials have been accused of accepting a $976,630 bribe in 2010 from officials of US-based Louis Berger consultancy firm to secure implementation rights of a multi-billion-dollar water and sewerage project in Goa worth Rs.1,031 crore funded by the Japan International Co-Operation Agency (JICA).

Alemao is currently in judicial custody.
