The state capital of Uttar Pradesh Saturday received a brief spell of rain, adding to the ongoing winter chill. The city was the coldest in the state with minimum temperature Friday recorded at 2.2 degrees Celsius.
In the last four days, the mercury has dropped by over seven degrees in the city, making it one of the coldest areas in Uttar Pradesh.
The weatherman said that the winter chill is set to get intense with every passing day. The maximum temperature recorded Friday was 22.7 degrees Celsius, which was two degree below normal.
The Regional Met Office has predicted thunder showers in some parts of the state in the next 24-hours. Fog, too, continued to spell trouble for trains and more than 50 trains were running hours behind time.
