Luke Walton becomes NBA D-league assistant

Former L.A. Lakers forward Luke Walton got a new job as an assistant coach for Los Angeles D-Fenders in the NBA D-league Tuesday.

Walton had been an assist for the University of Memphis during the 2011 lockout, reported Xinhua.

Walton had an 11-year NBA career, during which he helped the Lakers to win NBA titles in 2009 and 2010. He had played for the Lakers and the Cleveland Cavaliers, averaging 4.7 points and 2.8 rebounds in his career.
