Pharma major Lupin Ltd on Tuesday announced the launch of generic Abacavir and Lamivudine tablets for HIV in the US.
In a regulatory filing in BSE, the company said it has launched Abacavir and Lamivudine tablets 600 mg/300 mg after an approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) earlier.
According to Lupin, Abacavir and Lamivudine tablets, 600 mg/300 mg are the AB rated generic equivalent of ViiV Healthcare Company's Epzicom tablets, 600 mg/300 mg.
It is indicated in combination with other antiretroviral agents for the treatment of HIV-1 infection.
Epzicom tablets had US sales of $388.1 million, the company said.
