Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan will attend the ninth annual meeting of women speakers of parliament in Switzerland Sep 4-5.
The theme of the meeting would be "Economic empowerment of women: Women speakers of parliaments taking the lead", an official release said Tuesday.
There would be various sub-themes in the meeting such as building a conducive environment, women's economic needs and well-being and women's economic leadership.
Mahajan will make a presentation on "Building a conducive environment for women's economic empowerment".
Lok Sabha Secretary General P.K. Grover will accompany the speaker.
The meeting will culminate with the adoption of a declaration on the overall theme.
