Maharashtra police officials bag Republic Day honours

Sushil Prasad Singh, Superintendent of Police in the Anti-Corruption Bureau of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Nagpur, is the sole CBI official from Maharashtra who has been awarded the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service, an official announcement said here on Wednesday.

Besides Singh, five other CBI officials from across India have bagged the coveted President's Police Medal.

At least 22 officials have been selected for the Police Medal for Meritorious Service by the President of India for Republic Day 2017.

The selected officials include Atul Digambar Fulzele, IPS, who is Deputy Inspector General of Anti-Corruption Bureau of CBI, Arjun Vasant Pawar, Inspector in Economic Offences Wing of CBI and Head Constable Mahambir Singh with CBI's BS and FC -- all three based in Mumbai.

 

Three officers from Maharashtra are among 27 from all over India who have been selected for the Correctional Service Medals for Meritorious Services on the occasion.

Ramesh Raghunath Shinde, Constable, and Subhash Dnyanoba Kurhade, a sepoy, both in Yerwada Central Jail in Pune, and Shivajirao Baburao Patil, Constable at Kolhapur Central Jail, are among the selected officials.
