Indians Mahesh Mangaonkar and Joshna Chinappa marched into the semi-finals in the men's and women's sections respectively in the $15,000 Victoria Open squash tournament here on Friday while Kush Kumar made his exit.

Third seeded Mangaonkar overcame a tentative start to defeat Jaymie Haycocks of England 13-15, 12-10, 11-8, 11-7 to set up a semi-final clash with top seed Australian Ryan Cuskelly.

Joshna, also seeded No.3, did what was expected of her by beating the seventh seeded Megan Craig (New Zealand) 11-6, 11-4, 8-11, 11-9 and will meet the 'player of the day' Christine Nunn of Australia, who defeated top seed Rachael Grinham 11-9, 11-8, 4-11, 11-7.

After two confident rounds, former national junior champion Kush went down to sixth seeded Steven Finitsis of Australia 5-11, 7-11, 9-11.
