"Game of Thrones" actress Maisie Williams says she never planned to become an actress.

The 17-year-old star, who appears as Arya Stark in the medieval fantasy series, told The Independent newspaper that she has never harboured lofty career ambitions and credits much of her success to good fortune, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

"I didn't want to escape my life and become a big actress and live my dreams. That was never the way it was, it was just these amazing opportunities that happened," Williams said.

However, Williams conceded there are some negative aspects of fame, particularly having to behave like a role model at such a tender age.

"To express your views as a 17-year-old and be listened to is wonderful but with that comes great scrutiny and it's difficult to find the balance," she said.

"No one teaches you how to be a famous person; no one teaches you how to be a role model. It's something you have to do on your own," she added.
