A major fire broke out in a plastic and crockery industrial unit in the Bazaarkhala area of the state capital on Monday, police said.
While no one was injured in the incident, the entire unit was gutted.
It took ten fire tenders over three hours to douse the fire.
Circle Officer (CO) Bazarkhala Raj Kumar Agarwal told IANS that the three-storey factory belonged to Mahesh Gupta and that the fire was noticed at 8.00 am by some workers.
The fire started from the ground floor and soon leaped up to the top floor, engulfing the entire building in no time, the CO added.
