West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday said her government has assured the Indian cricket board of extending all cooperation in hosting the March 19 India-Pakistan Worldtwenty20 game at the Eden Gardens here.

"Whenever guests come to our state, we help them. Law and order is a state subject.

"The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has told me. I have said we will extend all cooperation," she told media persons here.

On Thursday, Banerjee wrote to the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president Sourav Ganguly assuring the state government would take necessary measures for the high-voltage game.

In the letter, she also asked Ganguly to convey her message to the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the BCCI.

Earlier on Wednesday when the high-voltage clash was shifted from Dharamsala to Kolkata by the ICC citing security concerns, Banerjee had tweeted: "We are very very happy to host India-Pakistan match in Kolkata. All are always welcome to our beautiful city."
