The West Bengal BJP on Monday welcomed the Supreme Court's questioning of the state government's challenge to Aadhaar and accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of involving her government on every issue.
"An individual may dislike any law or regulation passed by the central government. For that, he or she should move the court individually. Mamata is trying to politicise everything and involving the state government in every issue," Bengal BJP President Dilip Ghosh alleged.
"Opposing Parliament's mandate means opposing Parliament itself," the Bharatiya Janata Party leader said.
The Supreme Court on Monday slammed the West Bengal government for filing a plea to challenge the Centre's move to make Aadhaar mandatory for availing benefits of social welfare schemes and wondered how could a state government challenge a law passed by the central government.
