West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Tuesday reviewed the performance of all departments and pulled up "non-performing" ministers and bureaucrats.
She also said she would resume her district tours from Sep 10.
"We discussed the functioning of all departments. We could not do so for some time due to the Panchayat elections. We also could not take important decisions. We will again hold administrative meetings in the districts. We plan to complete touring half of the districts before the Durga Puja (in October)," Banerjee said.
All the ministers and senior bureaucrats attended the closed-door meeting at the historic Town Hall where Banerjee took stock of the work done by each department.
"We had very good discussions. We tried to identify the problem areas," she said.
Sources said Banerjee pulled up ministers and bureaucrats of departments whose showings were below-par.
Since coming to power in 2011, Banerjee has been holding such review meetings from time to time to keep her ministers and bureaucrats on the toes and ensure time-bound implementation of development and welfare schemes.
