Accusing Mamata Banerjee of sponsoring anarchy in West Bengal, the BJP Saturday said the whole country was concerned by the worsening law and order situation in the state.

A five member team of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by party vice presidents S.S. Ahluwalia and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi Saturday morning reached Bengal on their way to Sandeshkhali in North 24 Parganas district, where over two dozen party workers were injured in an attack allegedly orchestrated by the Trinamool Congress.

"There is state sponsored anarchy in Bengal. The whole country is concerned by this Mamata Banerjee patronised anarchy. The attack on our party activists is no more a political issue rather an issue involving shameless use of constitutional machinery for political gains," said Naqvi.

"The condition in the state is now worse than what was during the (erstwhile) Left Front government. In fact, the goons which were earlier part of the Left now have joined the Trinamool and its government," he added.

Besides meeting the family members of the injured, the delegation will hold a meeting with state chief secretary during the day.

It will submit its report to Union Home Minister and party president Rajnath Singh.

Concerned over the growing number of attacks on its party workers in Bengal, BJP general secretary, Jagat Prakash Nadda Thursday named the five member team.
