West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday wished a speedy and full recovery for External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj who underwent a scheduled kidney transplant at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi.
"Wish a speedy and full recovery for @SushmaSwaraj Ji after her surgery at AIIMS," Banerjee tweeted.
Sushma Swaraj tweeted on November 16 that she was admitted to AIIMS because of kidney failure.
The 64-year-old, who has been in and out of AIIMS for the last few months, was admitted to the hospital on November 7.
According to sources, the transplant procedure began at 8.30 a.m and ended around 2.30 p.m.
