The Delhi High Court Monday ordered contempt of court proceedings against a man for disobeying a court order telling him not to contact his mother.
Despite the court's direction, Jugal Kishore visited the mother and threatened her. The woman was found dead the next day.
While hearing the anticipatory bail plea of Jugal Kishore, the court had May 29 directed him not to contact his mother as a condition for interim protection from arrest.
Padma Rani, 76, had filed a cheating complaint with police against her son.
Taking suo motu cognizance of not following the court order, Justice S. Murlidhar issued contempt of court notice to Jugal Kishore and asked him to explain his conduct of wilfully disobeying the court order.

"The court considers prima facie that there has been wilful disobedience of this court's order by the petitioner (Jugal Kishore)," the court said.
Removing the interim protection granted by the court May 29, the court directed that a notice of contempt is issued, asking him to explain why he should not be proceeded for wilful disobedience of the court's order.
The court expressed anguish after knowing that Jugal Kishore, in disregard of the condition imposed by it on him, went to his mother's house May 31.
Jugal Kishore's mother filed a written complaint to police on the same day saying her son threatened her to vacate the house.
"Unfortunately, on the very next day of the incident (May 31), the complainant (the mother) expired," the court said.
As per the plea, Jugal Kishore's mother registered a complaint of cheating with the Maurya Enclave police station March 26.
She said in the complaint that Jugal Kishore took her to a government office on the pretext of getting her Aadhaar card prepared.
He, however, tricked her and got registered a forged gift deed in his favour with respect to her immovable property.
When his mother filed a police complaint, Jugal Kishore moved the high court for anticipatory bail.
The court had directed police not to take coercive action against him on the condition that he will not contact his mother, but he not only visited his mother but threatened her to vacate the house, following which she died the next day.
