A man has been arrested on charges of cheating people online after obtaining their credit card details, police said on Wednesday.
Police said accused Ashish Kumar Jha of Madhubani in Bihar was arrested on Tuesday night from his Jahangirpuri home in east Delhi.
"Jha obtained confidential details of credit card holders by posing as senior bank executive after telling them their cards had been blocked and he needed the details to unlock the same," Deputy Commissioner of Police Romil Baaniya said.
Sushil Chandra Rastogi of Greater Kailash Part-I had complained to police that a man, later identified as Jha, obtained his details and transferred Rs 1.46 lakh through various e-payment modes, Baaniya said.
