The BSF on Sunday apprehended a man near the Bangladesh border in West Bengal's Murshidabad district and seized a quantity of arms and ammunition and narcotics from him, an official said.
The man identified as Milan Mondal (42) was nabbed by the Border Security Force (BSF) troopers under Madhupana border outpost area.
"We recovered two home-made pistols, 4 magazines and 10 rounds bullets besides 100 grams of a brown powder, suspected to be heroin. Mondal along with the seized materials has been handed over to police," said a BSF officer.
The BSF has, so far in the year, has apprehended sound smugglers and seized at least 34 guns and nearly one kg of narcotics from across its South Bengal frontier zone.
