A 24-year-old man Wednesday died in a road accident while he was on his way to the national capital to attend the last rites of his sister, police said.
Amit Giri's bike was hit by a Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus in Ghazipur area of east Delhi. Giri was on his way from his office in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
His friend Gaurav Verma, who was also riding on the bike, escaped unhurt.
Giri, a resident of Vinod Nagar in east Delhi, was on his way to attend the last rites of his married sister Babli, 20, who died Wednesday morning after prolonged illness.
His sister also lived in east Delhi.
The bus driver has been arrested.
