A 37-year-old man was arrested for killing his wife for suspecting she was having an extra-marital relationship, said police Tuesday.
Sanjay Kumar, a resident of Bihar, was arrested Sunday from east Delhi's Anand Vihar railway station for the murder of his wife Kanti Devi, 35.
Kumar revealed during interrogation that he suspected that his wife was having an extra-marital relationship and told her not to go to work.
"When the victim did not leave her job, Kumar killed her June 9 during a heated argument at their rented house in east Delhi's Ghazipur area. The victim's son informed police that his father killed his mother," said Ajay Kumar, deputy commissioner of police.
Kumar was an alcoholic and used to work as an electrician but was usually without job.
