A man was arrested Monday for killing a person who allegedly had an illicit relationship with his wife, police said, adding the victim's kin and locals blocked vehicular movement while demanding a probe into the murder.

Maan Singh, 28, was arrested Monday for killing medical store owner Aman, 22, who allegedly had an illicit relationship with his wife, police said.

Both of them lived in the Gandhi Nagar area.

"Maan Singh called Aman to a house in Gandhi Nagar Sunday night and slit his throat. He packed the body in a bag and threw it in a deserted place near Dharampur village," a police official said.

The deceased's family Monday complained that Aman had not returned home since Sunday night, police said.

The accused, who is a driver, was arrested and the body was recovered Monday.

Aman's family members and a large number of locals Monday night blocked movement of vehicles by keeping the deceased's body at Pataudi Chowk, resulting in traffic jams on several routes connecting the Gurgaon-Pataudi highway, police said.

They were demanding a high-level probe into the murder.

Senior police officers were at the spot, trying to cool frayed tempers as the protestors said the body of the victim was found in four pieces.

However, forensic expert and head of the postmortem department at Civil Hospital Deepak Mathur told IANS: "The victim died of excess blood loss."
