An employee of a private company was robbed of Rs.18 lakh as he was coming out of a bank after withdrawing the amount, police said.
The daylight robbery took place near the high-security Raj Bhawan, the official residence of the Uttar Pradesh governor.
Police said accountant Yogendra Singh of Maroon Engineering and Consultants had withdrawn the money for some official use and was coming out of the bank when two bike-borne men snatched the bag from him.
The accountant raised an alarm but the miscreants sped away. The victim told the police that the robbers came on a red coloured motorbike.
