A man and his son were arrested for duping people and selling them high-valued disputed land after forging documents, police said Thursday.

"Ramesh Chand Aggarwal, 58, and his son Neeraj Kumar Aggarwal were arrested after they signed an agreement on the basis of forged document with complainant Ravinder Kumar to sell a disputed land in Mehrauli of south Delhi," police said.

"The two used to look for properties that had a dispute regarding the title. After having identified such a property, it was very easy for them to make forged title documents to sell to innocent buyers," said Sanjay Tyagi, Additional Commissioner of Police, Economic Offences Wing, Crime Branch.

During interrogation, it was found the duo had duped another person by selling a property in south Delhi for Rs.12 crore.

"The two also got a private company registered for this purpose to project their credibility and to induce innocent people in a professional manner," added Tyagi.
