A 45-year-old man who falsely claimed to be the son-in-law of a union cabinet minister has been arrested for threatening police officers, police said on Tuesday.

Vikas Siwach, son of a former deputy superintendent of police, allegedly threatened police personnel after they stopped his minor son for riding a motorbike near Pataudi Chowk.

"The boy could not produce the papers of the bike or driving license," Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Rajesh Kumar told IANS.

"Vikas threatened police officers over telephone claiming to be the son-in-law of Agriculture Minister Birender Singh," the officer said.

"It came to light later that Vikas had made the false claim on several occasions," the officer added.

A court sent Vikas on a day's police remand.
