The picturesque tourist resort Manali experienced more snowfall Wednesday but it was a sunny day here after two days of intermittent rain. The minimum temperature here settled at 3.8 degrees Celsius.
The temperatures remained below the freezing point at most places in Himachal Pradesh with widespread snow and rain over the past two days, an official of the meteorological office here told IANS, adding the western disturbances would withdraw Thursday.
Bharmour in Chamba district was the coldest in the state with a low of minus 10.1 degrees Celsius. It saw 10 cm snow since Tuesday.
Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti district recorded the minimum of minus 6.1 degrees Celsius, while the temperature was minus 2.2 degrees in Kalpa in Kinnaur district, and minus 0.3 degree in Dalhousie.
Keylong and Kalpa towns saw 25 cm and 19 cm snow respectively.
Manali recorded the minimum temperature of 0.4 degree Celsius.
The Met Office said western disturbance -- a storm system originating from the Mediterranean-Caspian Sea region and moving across the Afghanistan-Pakistan region, which brings rain or snow in the sub-Himalayan regions -- would be active again in the region from March 17.
