Henrikh Mkhitaryan may have turned a corner after another superlative display in Manchester United's English Football League (EFL) Cup 4-1 quarter-final win over West Ham United, manager Jose Mourinho has said.
The Armenian set up two goals to pick up the club's Man of the Match award for the second time in a week, as United set up a two-legged semi-final against Hull City at the Old Trafford ground on Wednesday.
"I'm so happy because it was against a Premier League team with Premier League qualities and characteristics," Mourinho told MUTV on Thursday.
"That really showed his evolution because against Feyenoord we could think that it was a different profile, but this was against a proper and typical Premier League team.
Mkhitaryan spent majority of his time on the sidelines since his move to United from Germany's Borussia Dortmund. He reportedly needed time to adjust to the demands of the way football is played in England, compared to Germany.
But his recent performances have all been positive, indicating he is gradually adjusting to requirements.

"Micki performed this way and we are really happy, because we know the reason why we bought him; we were waiting for his adaptation and it looks like it's coming."
