Manipal institute offers MBA course in Dubai

The T.A. Pai Management Institute in Manipal will offer Master of Business Administration (MBA) course to Indian students in Dubai from this academic year.

"We have tied up with the University of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce to offer the 18-month course to Indian students residing in the Gulf region," TAPMI Dean Chowdari Prasad said in a statement Tuesday from Manipal, about 400 km from Bangalore.

The University of Dubai degree courses are accredited by the UAE's ministry of higher education and scientific research and international accreditation organisations the world over.

"The course is designed to prepare candidates for careers in organisations and face three key challenges of managing an organisation, making choices and making a difference in the organisation," he said.

 

As a student-centred institution, the University of Dubai provides quality education with real-world curriculum to groom its students as business leaders of tomorrow, irrespective of their background.

"Students will do their first year at our institute in Manipal and on completion will go to the University of Dubai for internership in second year for securing the MBA degree," he said.

The institute will initially enroll 20 students for this academic year.

Candidates with a four-year degree or post-graduate degree from recognised universities in India are eligible for the course. They also should have a valid TOEFL score.

"The course fee is about Rs.20 lakh of which Rs.4.5 lakh will be payable to our institute and the balance to the University of Dubai, visa charges and hostel/stay at Manipal and Dubai," Prasad added.

Successful students will be placed in suitable jobs in Dubai.

"We see a lot of synergy between the two institutions as we share similarities. There are also a number of positive with a promising future for global MBA education," TAPMI Director R.C. Natarajan said in the statement.
