Nepal's Maoist leader Pushpa Kumar Dahal aka Prachanda called on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi here Monday.

Prachanda, chairman of the United Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (UCPN-M), is among the leaders of various political parties who will be meeting Modi ahead of his return to India Monday after a two-day visit.

The UCPN-M is the main opposition in Nepal's Constituent Assembly, and its support is vital for framing a new constitution.

Earlier, Modi discussed bilateral ties with Nepal's President Ram Baran Yadav. Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and senior officials from India and Nepal were present at the 15-minute meeting.
